The conflict unleashed between the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Boxing Association (IBA) over the IOC’s questionable positioning in favor of Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting, begins to take the appearance of a growing pugilistic fight, after the IBA decided to award the prize money to the Italian boxer Angela Carini as if she were the Olympic champion, now rejected by the Italian Federation, as published in Iusport and EFE. This article will explore the normative implications of the decisions taken by the highest bodies of boxing and Olympic sport, and how they will impact women’s sport and the very credibility of the IOC and the invoked ethical spirit that inspires the Olympic movement, for while slogans in favor of equal opportunities between men and women are proclaimed and the supposed parity of the Olympic Games in Paris is boasted, on the other hand, XY athletes are allowed to compete against XX athletes, violating all the rules of sports ethics and validating the violation of women’s human rights, which began at the very opening with the grotesque drag show.
